Silk noil may also be made from the short fibres, directly sourced from the silkworm cocoons. Rather than the continuous length of silk, shorter fibers, which are generally not used to create high quality silk, are used for silk noil, which has a slightly rough texture. It is relatively weaker and has low resilience. It tends to have very low lustre, which makes it appear more like cotton than silk.
Here is the way to test real silk fiber:
1.Solubility experiment
Cup 1 100% mulberry silk fiber put it into the amount of 84 disinfectant, then it will be dissolve and disappeared. Cup 2 is polyester, cannot dissolve.
2. Flammability test
Please fire silk, hair and chemical fiber, then compare it:
100% real Silk: white smoke , the smoke is almost the same with the hair scorch, the remaining is easy to grind into powder.
Imitate silk/Chemical fiber: black smoke, smell pungent and plastic , the remaining is hard, therefore they are not easy to grind into powder.
1. Separate cleaning:
Dark color 100% mulberry silk garments or silk fabrics should be washed separately from light color ones.
2. Immediately wash:
Sweat-soaked silk products should be immediately washed, or soaked with water, please do not use higher than 30 degree of hot water washing.
3. When washing silk, it is best to use shampoo or shower gel.Generally, laundry detergent will hurt the silk fabric. Please do not wash silk by powder or liquid detergent.
4. It is best to wash by hand. Do not rub or clean with a hard brush. Please wash gently then shade to dry.
5. Should be ironed when 80% dry.
- Please put a white cotton fabric in front of 100% silk fabric, can not iron pure silk fabric directly. Should not directly spray water.
- Please iron the opposite side. The temperature control between 100-180 degrees.
6. Collection should be cleaned, dried and folded properly. And wrapped with cloth stored in the cabinet, and should not put mothballs or health balls.
